ARC Student Guide to the Alternative Testing Module
What is the Alternative Testing Module?
The Alternative Testing Module is part of the Accessible Information Management (AIM) system and is designed to streamline the process of scheduling accommodated exams through the AccessAbility Resource Center (ARC).
To schedule exams using this module, your instructor must first complete the Alternative Testing Agreement (ATA) for your course. This agreement provides ARC staff with instructions for administering your exams.
This process only applies if you are approved to test at one of the following ARC locations, as listed in your accommodation letter:
- ARC Main Testing Room (AD 2.224)
- ARC Synergy Park Testing Room (SP2 11.175F)
Scheduling Policies
- Schedule exams through the AIM Student Portal at least:
- Five business days before quizzes and standard exams.
- 10 business days before final exams.
- Late exam requests will be denied unless you have prior approval from the ARC testing coordinator.
- Schedule exams within the timeframe your instructor provides in the ATA. If you need to test outside the exam window, consult with your instructor before scheduling your exam.
- You cannot modify requests within five business days of the exam, unless due to emergencies or class-wide changes.
- Cancel in advance if you are unable to attend a scheduled exam.
